Eight Biblical Principles of Health
Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Psalm 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
Our mission is to educate the community and to teach them about the Biblical Principles of Health.
The Eight Biblical Principles of Health are also known as the Eight Laws of Health, given to us
by God to keep us healthy. Click on each picture to find out more:
Nutrition
The cells in the body need nutrients to be able to perform its duty. The cells need starch, sugar, fats, protein, water, minerals, cellulose and vitamins that provide nutrition and cleaning for the cells. Without the proper nutrients can cause harm to the cells; eating the proper food that God has provided for us to eat helps to give the cells energy to perform its task and to keep the body healthy.

Exercise
Daily exercise in fresh air and sunlight is very beneficial for the cells in the blood, helps to create energy to help circulate the blood, good for the heart and lungs.Walking is the best exercise.

Water
Fresh water is needed to sustain life, every organ, the brain and the blood to perform properly. The organs needs two quarts of water daily in order to function properly.

Temperance
Temperance is not only in what we drink and eat in moderation. “True temperance teaches us to dispense entirely with everything hurtful and to use judiciously that which is healthful.” PP 562 “The law of temperance must control the life of every Christian. God is to be in all our thoughts; His glory is ever to be kept in view. We must break away from every influence that would captivate our thoughts and lead us from God. We are under sacred obligations to God so to govern our bodies and rule our appetites and passions that they will not lead us away from purity and holiness, or take our minds from the work god requires us to do.” CH p. 42 Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service”.

Rest
Proper rest is important for the cells, tissues and organs to renew vitality in the body. When we sleep the body repairs itself and the system slows down giving the cells the time to restore the body.
The deepest sleep is between 9pm – 12pm. The body needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night.

Trust in God
To trust is a belief in someone or something. Proverb 3:4
When we don’t have trust, worry, anxiety, depression, all have a negative effect on the mind and that can affect the body causings disease, and emotional distress. We can find peace in God if we trust in him. Isaiah 26:3

Sun
The sun is a necessary element of life, without the sun no life can exist. It provides oxygen and carbon dioxide, helps in creating plant nutrition, and everyone benefits from the sun, humans, plants and animals.
The sun provides vitamin D, electrifies the brain, increases white blood cells, stimulates the liver, lower blood pressure, good for the circulatory system and a lot more.

Air
The air is necessary to maintain life, it purifies the blood, calms the nerves, electrifies the whole body, vitalizes the vital organs and helps the system to eliminate the build up of unwanted substances. Outdoor gardening and walking is a good way to receive fresh air.
